My handmade Christmas decoration

A few days ago I made time to decorate our house. I prepared two christmas wreath, one for advent one to hang on the door. They were very easy to make and I enjoyed it so much! What you need is an (old) white fabric, 4 red candles, some decoration from potpourri, wires, glue gun and wreath base of course.

I cut stripes from the fabric and I wrapped the wreath base. I fixed it with glue in some places. Then I stabbed the (hot) wire into the bottom of the candle. Then just put some glue on th bottom of the candle and place it where you want. Be aware of the wire. Then twist the wire tightly around the wreath. Hide the wire with some fabric. Then you can decorate it with anything. I used some leftover potpourri. Done!

The hanging wreath has the same method: wrap in fabric. Then put a ribbon to hang and a bow. So simple!

Another simple decorating idea is to get a branch from your garden or from wood. Cut off what you do not need, and decorate with christmas ornaments. Put in a vase, fill it with stones or pebbles to stay fixed, put a bow of course!

Happy Decorating!

Chocolate chip cookie

This recipe is a basic chocolate cookie recipe. Very easy to make! You can vary it as you want, for example with orange and nuts, etc.

Ingredients (for 20-22 pieces):
300 g flour
200 g sugar
1 egg
200 g butter or margarine (liquid)
1/2 teaspoon  baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
150 g chopped dark chocolate

In a bowl mix well the sugar and the egg. Then pour the melted liquid butter. In another bowl, mix the flour, the baking powder and the baking soda. Then put the chopped chocolate into the flour. Mix it. Then pour the sugar-egg mixture into the flour-chocolate mix little by little. Do not stir it for long, cause it will be too dry in the end.

For half hour put in the fridge. Preheat the oven to 180 Celsius degree. Then put teaspoon balls onto a cookie sheet. Leave a small place in order to dilate. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Open the oven and leave it to cool for a few minutes. It will be a bit soft, but when it becomes cool, it will be a real cookie :)!

Villa Fiore

Normally I would not write about accomodations. But this time I have to make an exeption.

About a week ago we visited a really inspiring and charming place, called Villa Fiore. We had a really great time there, and the dinners were incredible! Every room has a different athmosphere, but the "country-rustic" style is the same. This place was a watermill many-many years ago, and now it is situated in one of the most beautiful area in Hungary! Lake Balaton is just a few minutes by car.

The owners make every effort to make yourself comfortable, they are very nice and friendly. So overall I suggest this place to everyone who loves this kind of places. Untill then, enjoy the pictures!

Courgette rissoles recipe

Today I will share one of my favourite recipe. It is very easy to make, it is perfect for vegetarians and for dinner guests. I made from our own grown zucchini (courgette) and herbs.

Ingredients:
1 normal zucchini
1 egg
bread crumbs
fresh chopped basil
1-2 coffee spoon fresh rosemary
10-12 decagram grated smoked cheese
salt
pepper as you like
oil

How to make: First wash the zucchini and dry it. Cut off the ends. If you do not like or the skin is thick, peel it. Then cut into half alongside, and clean the inside from cores. Then cut into smaller peaces in order to grate it with an apple grater. Put the salt on it, and wait at least 30 minutes. After that press the water out from the grated zucchini well!! Then put one egg, the herbs, the cheese and the pepper. Then put some bread crumbs. When you able to form it without falling apart, it is good.
Make flat rissoles shape and fry it in a pan until it gets roasted.

This meal is good for garnish as well. But I think it is better if you make some garlic sour creme ("tejföl" in Hungarian) and dunk it.
Bon Appetite!

Identify colours with Chip-it!

When you find a nice picture online, have you thought about "this has great colour, how can I indentify it?". The solution was done by Sherwin Williams! Chip it is a very useful application, it makes a complete colour palete!

I tried it, and it works well!

Just drag the Chip-it button and pull to your tool bar. Find a picture and start it! Isn't it fun!
